2026 China International Motorcycle Expo Focuses on Motorcycle Industry and Intelligent Technology Development

2026.09.21

The 2026 China International Motorcycle Expo (CIMA) will be held from September 19 to 22 at the Chongqing International Expo Center. With the theme “Leading Industry Development and Creating a Better Future,” the exhibition will cover more than 170,000 square meters, including eight indoor exhibition halls and an 80,000-square-meter outdoor area. More than 1,000 exhibitors from China, the United States, Italy, Germany, France, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, South Korea, Pakistan, and other countries are expected to participate.

As a national-level professional motorcycle exhibition in China, CIMA covers the complete motorcycle industry chain, including motorcycles, new energy vehicles, components, and riding equipment. More than 100 motorcycle and electric vehicle brands are expected to participate, with over 3,000 vehicles to be showcased in both dynamic and static displays. Exhibits will include motorcycle-related components such as fuel injection systems, shock absorbers, chains and sprockets, and clutches, as well as key components and technologies for electric vehicles.

- Motorcycle Industry Moves Toward Premium and Intelligent Development

As motorcycle products continue to evolve, the industry is gradually moving toward premium, intelligent, and personalized development. Powertrain technologies for conventional fuel-powered motorcycles continue to advance, while technologies developed for racing applications are increasingly being introduced into production models. Electric two-wheelers are also expanding into a variety of applications, including commuting, off-road riding, commercial use, and high-speed electric motorcycles.

In terms of intelligent technologies, intelligent driving foundation models, range-extender architectures, domain controllers, and AI-based active safety technologies are gradually being introduced into the two-wheeler sector. Automotive-grade chips and AI foundation models are also being incorporated into next-generation intelligent products, further increasing the importance of electronic components, sensing, and control technologies in the motorcycle industry.

-Expanding Global Markets and Industry Cooperation

In addition to product and technology exhibitions, CIMA will also feature events such as the China Motorcycle Chongqing Forum and the Two-Wheeler Cross-Border E-Commerce Special Exhibition, connecting domestic companies with global purchasing resources and promoting international exchange and market cooperation within the motorcycle industry.

Purchasers from more than 20 countries across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa have already registered to attend. Their purchasing requirements cover complete vehicles, components, riding equipment, and electric and intelligent products.

The exhibition will also feature more than 50 motorcycle-themed activities, including brand test rides, slow-riding competitions, Gymkhana experiences, motorcycle stunt competitions, and customized motorcycle displays. Through industry exhibitions, technology exchanges, and motorcycle culture activities, the event will showcase the industry's development from traditional fuel-powered motorcycles toward electrification, intelligent technologies, and diverse applications.

For electronic components and related supply chains, the continued development of motorcycle electrification and intelligent technologies is also expected to drive demand for power management, sensing, control, semiconductors, and other electronic components, making the industry's ongoing development an area worth continued attention.
